Under Girl to Girl Approach, 2 girls in the age group of 11-15 are chosen from each Anganwari. These girls would be provided with meals that would provide 500 calories of energy and 20 gms. of protein. They would also receive training at the Anganwari from the worker 6 months to become fully trained individuals, capable of managing feeding programs, home visits, pre-school activities, etc.
Balika Mandal focuses on the social and mental development of girls in the age group 15-18 years. Special emphasis is put on non-formal education and improvement and up-gradation of home-based skills.
