Under this scheme, consumers can reduce the cost of electricity by 30 to 50 percent by installing solar panels in the roof of their house. Under this scheme of the Government of India, consumers will get electricity for a period of 25 years as well as the cost of setting up the subsidy scheme will be paid in 5-6 years.
After which the consumers will get the facility of free electricity for a period of about 20 years. Consumers will be provided subsidy up to 40% for installing 3 KV solar panels as per this scheme. Along with this, up to 20 percent subsidy will be provided for 10 KV solar panels.

To apply for Solar Rooftop Yojana, visit the official website of solarrooftop.gov.in.
After going to the website, click on the option of Apply for Solar Rooftop in the home page.
In the new page, the consumer will see the links of the portal with the names of all the states.
The consumer has to click in the link next to the name of his state.
After this, in the section of Apply Online in the next page, click on Solar Rooftop Application.
For registration in the portal, click on the option of NEW USER REGISTRATION.
Enter all the details given for registration and click on register now option.
After that login to the portal and complete the application process.
